Company Description:

Ondas Networks has extensive knowledge and expertise in the development and design of mission-critical private broadband wireless networks. Our focus currently includes Utilities, Oil & Gas, Transportation (Rail, Transit and Aviation) and Government. We offer a multi-patented, Software-Defined Radio (SDR) platform which enables wide-area intelligent networks for metro-area networks, train to wayside, wayside to back office, vehicle to infrastructure, vehicle to back office, as well as for smart grids, smart pipelines, and smart field networks.  In rail and transit markets we are focusing on optimization of existing spectrum for better throughput, as well as establishing private, licencesd connections for new technology innovations and use cases, including Automated Train Control requirements which require mobile end-points as part of the safety and mission-critical networks. Ondas Networks provides a frequency agnostic radio platform from 70 MHz to 6 GHz and beyond. We also offer mission-critical entities the option of a managed network service. Ondas’ SDR technology supports IEEE 802.16s, the new worldwide standard for private licensed wide area industrial networks.

IEEE 802.16s, addresses the mobile and fixed data connectivity needs of mission critical industries and the high-value-data delivery integrity required. The standard enables private, licensed radio frequencies for the exclusive use of network connected devices. The standard was developed hand-in-hand with the leadership and support of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the world’s leading utility research arm, and some of the US’s largest electric utilities. The standard is the elemental building block in the Mission Critical Internet of Things (MC-IoT) being adopted by electric utilities, oil & gas, water, rail, transportation, and government for mission critical applications. Ondas’ technology supports secure wireless data communications using industry standards for AAA as well as customer selectable link-layer encryption up to AES 256.

From commercial and passenger rail operations to self-driving vehicles and aviation, there are a whole host of transportation applications that our technology is suited for. Our networks can provide either a primary network for enhanced security, reliability and availability or secondary network for redundancy, ensuring industrial-strength connectivity to keep transportation operations on track.

In the rail industry specifically, these networks enable optimized performance and monitoring of the movement of trains in real time.  Our networks are also capable of creating reliable connectivity and data communications for applications such as line-condition monitoring, rail crossing and station automation, and rail-side sensor communication with control operations.

For industrial-connected and autonomous vehicles, we focus heavily on developing a safety network. These networks act as a secondary option for connectivity in the event that there is a data communications failure or lapse over the primary network as a result of data traffic interruption. As we see more self-driving vehicles, both for pleasure and for commercial operations, rider safety is of the utmost important and additional backup networks for security and reliability will become a necessity.

Product Information:
We have four state-of-the-art hardware platforms – Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Neptune – all capable of running any Ondas’ Radio Software Application. Your radio hardware selection is truly independent of the air interface protocol and other application software you choose to run. All Ondas radios can operate either the IEEE 802.16s air interface protocol for wideband operation or the IEEE 802.16e air interface protocol for broadband operation. Additionally, all radios can operate as a Base Station
